Sunny Point Resort Policies – Ensuring a Peaceful Retreat for All
Cancellation Policy:
– Cancellations made at least 30 days prior to your arrival, you’ll receive a full refund of your deposit, minus a $30 handling fee.
– Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival will result in 50% of your deposit being retained.
– Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival, the full deposit will be retained.
Please consider reservations firm when booked.*
Noise & Conduct:
– Disruptive behavior (loud parties, amplified music, fireworks, jet skis, barking dogs, or overcrowding) is strictly prohibited.
– Alcohol is not permitted at the beach, Rec-Centre, docks, or in any watercraft.
Fire Safety:
– Absolutely no campfires and smoking are permitted. (Except the designated fire pit outside the office area)
– Each cottage/inn suite has smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and (where applicable) heat sensors.
– Wood stoves are available in cottages and select suites (max 2-3 logs; ask for instructions).
*Note: Fireplaces in Blue Heron, Georgian, and Junior Suites are decorative only.*
Pet Policy:
– Up to 2 well-behaved dogs (excluding “dangerous” breeds per our insurer) are welcome in cottages only—not the Inn or Grand Muskokan.
– Immediate cleanup of all pet waste is required
– Owners are responsible for any damage caused by pets
Occupancy & Guest Policies:
– Rates cover **maximum occupancies** (all ages count). Exceeding limits incurs fees ($50/day) and requires advance approval.
– Day guests are limited (e.g., 2 non-sleeping guests for a 6-person cottage; $20/day fee). No trailers/tents allowed.
– No parties or large gatherings allowed.
Check-In & Check-Out Procedures:
Check-In (4:00 PM):
– Contactless Arrival: Your cottage will be unlocked upon arrival. Simply walk in—no need to stop at the office!
– Key Location: Your key will be waiting on the entryway table. Please take it with you during your stay.
Check-Out (9:00 AM):
– Key Return: Place the key back to the same spot where it was found and ensure the door is left unlocked.
– Late Check-Out: Available for a fee with 24-hour advance notice (subject to availability; fees vary by unit size).
Quiet Hours:
– 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM daily to maintain our peaceful atmosphere (Please keep voices, music, and pet noise minimal during these hours)
BBQ & Stove Safety:
– Gas BBQs must be attended at all times when in use
– Never move BBQs from their designated locations
– Turn propane tanks completely off after each use
– Adherence to times is critical for our small team. Off-season late checkouts may be available (fees apply: $80–$150).
Accessibility Note:
– Our 84-acre property features natural Canadian Shield terrain with steps throughout. Guests with mobility concerns should review this carefully.
Cleanliness & Turnover:
– We take great pride in providing clean and comfortable accommodations, and we kindly ask all guests to help us maintain this standard by leaving the unit tidy upon departure.
– While a full cleaning will be done after your stay, we do expect guests to leave the unit in a reasonably neat condition with no personal belongings or trash left behind.
Before you check out, please ensure the following:
All dishes, utensils, and cookware have been washed and put away
Garbage and recycling are properly disposed of in the designated bins
No personal items are left behind in the unit
Please note: If the unit is left in an excessively dirty or disorderly state, or if additional time is required for cleaning due to food messes, garbage, or unwashed dishes, a portion of your deposit may be withheld to cover the extra cleaning fees.

Guest Responsibility:
– Please report any existing damage upon arrival. Unreported issues may be considered guest-caused.
Damage:
– Minor incidents (broken glass, stains, etc.) should be reported immediately. A small fee may apply for repairs.
– Significant damage charges will reflect repair/replacement costs.
Security Deposit:
– A refundable hold ($150–$500, depending on unit size) is required at booking. Deposits are released within 7 days post-check-out, pending inspection.
– Intentional damage or policy violations (e.g., smoking indoors, pet accidents) forfeit the full deposit.
